The Reflective Marathon Circle

Welcome

Welcome to the Reflective Marathon Circle—where your marathon journey is about more than just the miles. Here, we blend a supportive community with intentional reflection, helping you build resilience from the inside out. Throughout the program, you’ll engage in guided reflective practices and evidence-based mindset sessions designed to deepen your mental endurance alongside your physical training.

In other words, this is where you’ll strengthen both your body and your mindset with a thoughtful, grounded approach. Are you ready to cross that marathon finish line with a whole new level of insight?

What You'll Gain

In the Reflective Marathon Circle, you’re not just training for a race—you’re uncovering new layers of understanding. Here’s what you might notice, not just on the marathon path, but in every part of your life:

  • Mental Resilience: You’ll build a mindset that helps you handle family dynamics, work challenges, and leadership roles with more confidence and clarity. We even use practical reflection exercises that connect your marathon ‘why’ to your everyday life.

  • Insightful Reflection: You’ll discover your true "why" behind running the marathon, and how that purpose can positively influence your relationships and personal growth. Our approach is grounded in well-regarded coaching practices, so you’re getting both depth and practicality.

  • Supportive Community: You’ll connect with others who value reflection, so you can share experiences and grow together—not just as runners, but as individuals on a meaningful journey. This isn’t just another running program; it’s a unique blend of inner growth and physical training that you won’t find just anywhere.

How the 16 week Program Works

A simple, steady online structure that supports you mentally, emotionally, and physically 16 weeks before your big day.

Fortnightly online 1:1 Coaching: 8 x 60 minute sessions across 16 weeks
Personal, reflective sessions to explore your mindset, motivation, confidence, values, and the real-life pressures that show up during training.

Fortnightly online Group Circle: 8 x 60 minute sessions across the 16 weeks
A small, intimate group (max 10) for shared reflection, support, and honest conversation. No comparison. No pressure. Just connection.

Between-Session Support
Light email or text support when things come up during the week — because marathon training rarely unfolds neatly.

Journey Material
A downloadable progress booklet to capture all the insights you'll gain during the program

Race morning check in
A brief grounding message on race morning to support steadiness, focus, and self-trust before the start.

Mid week accountability via text or email
A simple mid-week check-in to help you stay connected to your intention, especially when motivation dips or the week feels full.

What This Program Is Not

- A training plan
- Mental health counselling
- A podiatry or injury-management service
- A performance or pace-driven program
- A weight loss program

This program is for the mindset, reflection, and whole-person identity work that supports your marathon journey — the deeper layer that shapes how you stay steady, connected, and purposeful while you train then bring this into your day to day life.

Important: You must be entered in a marathon when the program begins

You’re welcome to talk with me before you commit, especially if you’re still weighing it up. But to join the program, you need to be officially entered in a marathon before the first session.

Here’s why: the reflective work only makes sense when you’re actually preparing for 42 km — when the decision is real, the training is underway, and the emotional side has something to attach to. It’s not a program for “maybe one day.” It’s for runners who have said yes, or are about to, and want support as they step into everything that decision brings up.

Why I Care About Supporting New, Returning, and Re-Starting Marathoners

You can read my full background on the main About page, but here are a few things that matter specifically for this program.

I’m currently training for my third marathon after a long break. My first attempt didn’t go to plan — I didn’t finish, and I ended up on the "sad" bus back to the start line. I still remember the mix of disappointment, shame and confusion. I thought I had done everything right.

That experience changed the way I approached the next marathon training. It wasn’t a lack of fitness — it was the mental load, the self-doubt, the pressure, and the lack of reflective support that made everything feel heavier than it needed to be. If I’d had an ICF-trained coach beside me, the story might have unfolded differently.

Now, that’s exactly what I offer other: a calm, values-informed space to make sense of the emotional, psychological, and identity shifts that come with preparing for 42.2 km.

I also bring:

  • a person centred and trauma-aware coaching approach

  • a background in podiatry (helpful, but not the program’s focus)

  • experience supporting leaders navigating confidence, identity, and real-life complexity

  • a grounded, reflective style based around meaning—not perfection or performance

  • strong knowledge about the affect of women's hormones on day to day performance

I know what this journey feels like from the inside.
